With our discarded laptops, docking stations, PCs and the like, we secured jobs for people with disabilities, conserved valuable resources and saved energy. The AfB has now presented us with a certificate for this social-economic commitment. Bernhard Klug, Director IT Services & Solution, and Boris Conew, Head of IT Service, accepted the award in person.
AfB specializes in extending the life of used IT and mobile equipment through professional data destruction, refurbishment and remarketing. The recognized inclusion company employs around 500 people in five countries, about 45 percent of whom are people with disabilities.
In 2021, we provided AfB with a large volume of retired IT hardware. Functioning equipment was professionally refurbished by the certified IT refurbisher. In this way, their life cycle was significantly extended. Equipment that was no longer suitable for further use was professionally dismantled and recycled by AfB. With this commitment, we actively contributed to this:
- To create a job for a person with disabilities
- Save 34,164 kg of CO2, 86,404 liters of water and 15,574 kg of iron
AfB is an ideal partner for our sustainability and social responsibility efforts – and we look forward to our continued collaboration!
